Pinched Nerve
A pinched nerve, or cervical radiculopathy, produces neck and radiating arm pain or numbness, sensory loss, or muscle weakness in the neck and upper extremities.
Symptoms of Pinched Nerve
In most cases, the pain of a pinched nerve starts at the neck and travels down the arm and affects the area served by the damaged nerve. Symptoms may include:
- Pins and needles tingling in the fingers or hand
- Arm, shoulder, or hand weakness
- Loss of sensation in the arm, hand, or fingers
Causes of Pinched Nerve
Pinched nerveis caused by nerve compression from herniated disc material, arthritic bone spurs, or the spine's narrowing.
