Whiplash is a neck injury due to forceful, rapid back-and-forth movement of the neck. It can cause neck pain, decreased range of motion, tightness in the neck, and headaches. The muscles may feel stiff or knotted, and you may experience pain when moving your head from side to side or backward and forward.
Causes of Whiplash
Whiplash is commonly caused by rear-end car accidents. But whiplash can also result from sports accidents and other types of traumas, such as a fall.
